Welcome to Friday Food!  A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday.  For the next few months, we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”.  In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God).  We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and blessing and love and peace other topics too!  When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes.  This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head.  Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things.  Just let them speak to your heart.  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.  Here is today’s download:

The Rule of Love

The Rule of Love

The Rule of Love

Don’t be confused by rules and regulations. Don’t get caught up in lists of things to do or not do.  Whatever you do must be supported and grounded in my love.  Therefore, any rule that is not grounded in my love will oppress and hold you, prisoner.  So, follow the rule of love.  This is the rule that brings life, freedom, good news, healing, peace and joy among other things.  Remember, I did not come to oppress.  I came to free.  So, free yourself from life depleting rules and way of living.  Most importantly. focus on what is life nurturing which is love.  Finally, do not judge and forgive everything.

Ponder

Many of us grew up with rules related to our religious life.  Those rules do not always serve us well when our Spirit wants to grow.  As we grow spiritually we may need to give up some of the rules that limit our growth.  If the rules we were taught are hindering our growth, consider if they are loving and life nurturing.  If not, consider letting them go.  It might be hard at first and it might just lead you to a freer life.  If you would like to know more about life nurturing spiritual practices please feel free to contact me.  I would love to discuss this with you.
