Welcome to Friday Food!  A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday.  For the next few months we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”.  In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God).  We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and and blessing and love and peace other topics too!  When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes.  This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head.  Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things.  Just let them speak to your heart.  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.  Here is today’s download:

Sit and Wait

Sit and Wait“Wait.  Sit and wait.  Give the prayers of your heart to me and wait.  Do not grow weary.  Rather fill yourself with my patience and love so that your waiting my be full of joy.  Sing, pray, dance, keep silent and always be brave in your waiting.  Do not rush for each moment has its own joy to be savored, its own meaning to know, its own wound to be healed.  Give yourself time to experience these good things.  Do not let yourself be bored in your waiting.  Once you are bored you will look for ways to distract your waiting.  Give your full attention to the waiting.”

We live in an anxious world that demands fast solutions.  But the world of Spirit demands our patience.  When we rush to answers and conclusions we are standing on appearances only…sifting sand.  Waiting requires sure footing, it requires us the time and patience to look beyond the obvious to look deeply into and behind what our mind sees.  Have you ever experienced a time where you were glad you waited?  Maybe you held your comments to someone and then realized that you didn’t know the whole story.  Waiting is also important for healing our soul wounds.  So, slow down, wait.  Let me know what you think in the comments below.

  1. waiting is a usa virtue to be developed. and don’t worry, when god is through with your waiting you will get the nudge, just as Jesus did when his mother told him to do something about the wine situation at the Cana wedding. “Not my time,” Jesus said, totally into his waiting. His mom says to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you to do,” thus forcing his hand. God at work in family ways! Patience, wait, you’ll get going some day, it just won’t be on your schedule!
