Remember Your Truth

Remember your truthDuring times of change, who we are, what we stand for and how we want to live and be in the world is challenged.  When this happens, it is important to remember your truth.  As we move through life, the truth of who we are can sometimes become hidden.  The culture we grew up in, educational and religious systems, and families of origin are all a challenge to the truth of who we are.  Unless, we are vigilant, these things can distract us from our truth.  And left unchallenged we can end up living  lives that do not reflect our truth.

Each person gets to discern their truth.  This means you have the opportunity to re-examine those truths that come from culture, educational and religious systems, and families of origin.  Some of them you may choose to keep.  Others you will let go.  And still, others you will modify in a way that helps you to live as authentically as you choose to live.   There is great diversity in this since we have different experiences.  Yet, there are some common threads that help us remember our truth so that we may live authentically.

Ponder

As you seek to remember your truth and to live authentically here are some of the common threads to think about.  It is important to keep your wounds clean so that they may heal.  All of us have wounds that need  care and attention.    Fear, anger, judgement and blame all inflame our wounds.  When our wounds are inflamed, we are distracted from our truth.  We need a regular infusion of peace and joy and a healthy dose of love on a regular basis in order for our Spirit to remain connected to our truth.  We also need connection to others, even those who are different from ourselves who may even challenge our truth.  In this way our truth is strengthened and we gain clarity about what we need to support us in living our truth as well as what we can let go.

If you do not have a regular practice of healing, cleansing and attending to your wounds let me know.  Or if you are interested in developing a practice that is life nurturing so that you can be more connected with your truth, I would also love to help you with that.  Feel free to contact me or leave a comment below.
