Welcome to Friday Food!  A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday.  For the next few months, we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”.  In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God).  We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and blessing and love and peace other topics too!  When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes.  This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head.  Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things.  Just let them speak to your heart.  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.  Here is today’s download:

The Power of Love

“This is the power of love:  Feed those who are hungry.  Heal those who are sick.  Help those who are lost find their way.  You do this by the power of love.  Attend to physical needs but also tend to those who are spiritually hungry, sick and lost.  Use the power of love to attend to these needs too.  Be open to the struggle of others and do not judge them especially if the pain has taken over their life.  No matter how much they judge you and those things that are dear to you, keep loving as best as you can.  The love you offer is perfect and enough even if it is offered through your own wounds.  Be kind and gentle, strong in your love so that when you are assaulted with anger and disbelief you will not be affected.  If you approach situations in love you will have my protection.  I love you.”

Sometimes when we reach out to others in love, we are not met with love in return.  We are to love anyway.  It is a good time to remember that God loves all of us no matter how unloving we are.  Whether we are wounded, sick or tired, God loves us and ask us to love others especially the ones that don’t necessarily won’t to be loved.  Let me know how you experience God’s love given and received in the comments below.

  1. When I pay attention to my relationship with God, checking in with this kind being on and off, i find it easy to love just about anybody. When we walk in love we are protected, as you say. Our relationship is good and forever; our relationship with the author of our souls and our actions issuing forth.
