Welcome to Friday Food! A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday. For the next few months we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”. In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God). We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and and blessing and love and peace other topics too! When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes. This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head. Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things. Just let them speak to your heart. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. I Do Not Change
I do not change. Rather, I am the same yesterday, today and forever. I am not a God of if or then. What I am is the Prince of Peace and I come to you in abundant love and bring you hope and joy in all of life. Do not blame me for the storms of life or your difficult moments. Do not call on me to justify your anger or your position on some issue. These are all surface realities. Look below the surface and see my sustaining love. Know of my hopeful presence and the joy that comes from knowing that I love you and I care for you in all situations. Therefore, give thanks and praise to me for I am good to you and for you and my love for you knows no end. I love you.”
When we give credit to God (however you understand God) for the good things or the bad things that happen to us, we are making the divine into a Santa Clause who rewards the good and punishes the bad. It might indicate that our primary identification of God is one of judge. None of that is really any of our business. The main thing to remember is that God is love and is the same yesterday, today and forever no matter what situation we find ourselves in. So, connect to the changeless love of God and give thanks in all things. Let me know how it goes in the comments below.
