Welcome to Friday Food! A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday. For the next few months, we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”. In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God). We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and blessing and love and peace other topics too! When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes. This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head. Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things. Just let them speak to your heart. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Here is today’s download:
Sheep and Goats
“Don’t worry too much about whether you are a sheep or a goat, because you are both and will be more of one or the other depending on which one you feed the most. Your goatness is not particular about what you feed it and can survive on the worst possible food. However, your sheepness needs good nutritional food in order to grow. But your goatness survives on anger, hatred, jealousy, judging, idleness all these things and more. In contrast, sheepness thrives on love, joy, and peace. Both goat food and sheep food are present. You can’t starve the goat or get rid of the goat. However, you can put the goat in a different pasture and ignore him and not feed him. At the same time, you can carefully tend your sheep so that you just don’t have time for the goat. The goat will never leave and cause a lot of commotion over in his pasture. Over time, without attention and food, the goat will become less distracting. Focus on the sheep part and neglect the goat part. That’s really the best you can do. I love you”
There are those who are eager to separate us into sheep and goats. The goats being the ones who don’t fare so well. Those who are eager about the separation usually consider themselves sheep and are sure that everything will go their way. However, those who separate really don’t have the skills necessary to do the separation. That is the business of God (however you understand God) The fact is, we all have a little bit of goat and sheep in each of us. We just have to feed the sheep part and deal with the goat part as best as we can. Some days we are sheep, other days we are goats. Your thoughts? Feel free to share in the comments below.
