Welcome to Friday Food! A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday. For the next few months we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”. In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God). We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and and blessing and love and peace other topics too! When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes. This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head. Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things. Just let them speak to your heart. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Here is today’s download:
Mercy Is What I Give
“Mercy is what I give. Mercy is what I want, not sacrifice. So, first be merciful to yourself. Show yourself mercy and then you will show mercy to to others. Mercy is what I give and mercy is what I want you to give others. Not judgement, not sacrifice. Mercy is what I give. Mercy requires love. So, let my love and mercy flow in you and be in you. In this way my love and mercy will heal you and your neighbor. It will fill you and flow through you into the world. Mercy is what I give and the mercy I give you, you can give to others. I love you.”
There are those who would say that the path to knowing the Divine within you requires a great sacrifice on your part. No doubt, as you seek to know more about your Divine self, you will sacrifice some things. But this will be of your own choosing not something that some other person has told you that you must sacrifice in order to reach a goal. God (however you understand God) gives mercy and love. Whatever you choose to give up or sacrifice depends on your understanding of God’s gift of mercy to you. Let me know how you experience mercy in the comments below.
was pondering this this morning. I think people feel that sacrifice is something they can quantify but mercy is not, and they want their ledger book tidy, balanced. that’s the trouble with mental religion.
love to you and thanks. jane
