Welcome to Friday Food! A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday. For the next few months we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”. In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God. We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and other topics too. When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes. This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head. Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things. Just let them speak to your heart. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Here is today’s download:
When you come to God with your pain and suffering, what if you heard God say this:
“Continue on your healing path. Forgive, be forgiven, cleanse, heal and give thanks. Put your brain behind your heart and feel your way through the pain. When the time is right you will have new ways to think about your life and this will help you in your healing journey. On your healing journey, be attentive that your ego/brain doesn’t take over and come up with a “plan” for what you should do to make things “right”. Let me heal your pain. Give your suffering to me. Give it, be it, live it but do NOT deny it. I love you.”
Sometimes in our suffering, we put on a happy face and pretend we aren’t suffering. When we deny our suffering, God is not able to help us. If you have had an experience of suffering denied or suffering experienced what was the difference in the two. Today’s Download from Heaven reminds us that when we surrender our suffering to God we can heal and grow. When we try to figure out why or deny the suffering the pain only grows. Today is a day that many are suffering and remembering the event of Sept. 11. Let me know in the comments below your experience of surrendering your suffering to God.
