Feed Your Soul with Love
God (however you understand God) has filled the world with God’s love(however you understand God’s love) for you to feast upon. Do you love the sunshine, do you love to sing, do you love to paint or draw or create? Maybe you love to dance or love to sit in silence by a flowing stream, or do you like to shout to the top of your lungs at your favorite sporting event? When you do the things you love, you feed your soul. You feed your soul from a veritable love feast. Is your soul hungry? Then find something you love to do and do it. Do it for ten minutes or do it for a whole day. But do it so that your soul won’t starve.
The things that we love, that speak to our soul, whether something mentioned above or something else, are all food for our soul. Our soul is hungry and we feed it by doing what we love. Usually, when we feed our soul there is some joy that comes along. Love feeds our soul. There are many kinds of love, not just the physical kind with humans but the love that comes from things we do, the people we are with the places we inhabit. All of these can be food for your soul. So, give a little thought to what nourishes your soul and spend a little time doing just that. I’m choosing to sit in the warm sun for a few minutes. What about you? What do you do to feed your soul? If you are looking to develop a spiritual practice that feeds your soul, I would love to hear from you. Happy feasting!!
