Welcome to Friday Food! A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday. For the next few months, we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”. In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God). We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and blessing and love and peace other topics too! When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes. This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head. Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things. Just let them speak to your heart. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Here is today’s download:
Dealing with the Different
“Do not be afraid of those who are different from you. And by all means, do not judge them. Give them space in the world and give them space in your life. Those who are different from you can show you new ways of being. They can show you a different perspective and they can give you insight into the work that needs to be done in the world. Those who are different can show you the way to peace and joy. But, you must look beyond appearances. You must see them with your heart and you must respect them. Do not judge them rather, advocate for them. And when you do this, do it with love and compassion. Seek my help and I will show you love, grace, and new life. I love you.”
We live in a very diverse world. But many people are striving for sameness. But we are not all alike and this is a great joy of God’s creation. All are precious in God’s sight (however you understand God) So, when we encounter those who are different it is good to remember that they too are God’s children. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
superb. the other day a voice said to me, “come judge with me.” I didn’t know what that meant but i went up anyway. I sat beside the voice. We looked out over all. then the voice said, smiling: “Who needs compassion?” That was how we judge – no wrong or punishment – who needs compassion; who needs what it takes to be whole?
One of the hardest of God’s commands, but one that we so appreciate and need from others
