Welcome to Friday Food!  A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday.  For the next few months, we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”.  In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God).  We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and blessing and love and peace other topics too!  When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes.  This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head.  Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things.  Just let them speak to your heart.  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.  Here is today’s download:

Taste and See

Taste and See“Your task each day is to taste and see and be a part of my Kingdom.  To do this, keep yourself healed up.  Cast out the demons of fear, anger, and hate, just to name a few.  Casting out these demons enables my love light to shine in and through you.  Surrender to your humanity and welcome your imperfection and let me be a part of that.  Put aside all your worries and negative self-talk.  Put it aside and rest in me.  You are protected, you are free, you’re healed, you are informed by joy, surrounded by love, your body is full of hope.  Let my love shine in you. ”

Sometimes, often, in fact, I get caught up in “being good.”  I come from a long line of rule keepers that taught me in order to be acceptable to God (however you understand God) I had to keep rules and strive for perfection in my spiritual life.  The fact is, we are never given more than a grade of C in our spiritual life.  The sooner we accept living an “average” spiritual life, the more we can embrace our humanity and let that which is divine shine through.  Sometimes this means giving up on things like rules and teachings that bind us up rather than set us free.  Let me know how you live into your humanity.  I would love to know what you think in the comments below.
