Welcome to Friday Food!  A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday.  For the next few months, we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”.  In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God).  We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and blessing and love and peace other topics too!  When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes.  This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head.  Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things.  Just let them speak to your heart.  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.  Here is today’s download:

Be Calm

Be Calm“Be calm.  When something happens to upset you, just be calm. Don’t assume you know everything or all the facts. Don’t make judgments and release and pre-conceived notions you have about anything or anyone.  They might be true or they might not be true. Hold fast to what is good and give people the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes you will be “right “ sometimes you will be “wrong” but always try to be loving, patient and kind.  This makes the world a better place and it makes you a better person. Trust in me when things don’t’ go as you wish or as you planned. I am on your side but I might also be on the “other” side. I love you.”

Many times I am quick to judge thinking I have all the facts only to find out later, that I didn’t know what I was talking about our based my actions on false or incomplete information.  We live in a world where it is very important to be patient and make sure that someone has not given us false or deceptive information. In my faith tradition, we discern the “truth” together guided by God (however you understand God).  I like this practice. It has helped me see much clearer and be more kind and loving on many occasions. How do you sort through all the information coming our way these days? I would love to hear your comments below.
