Welcome to Friday Food!  A little bit of food for your soul…every Friday.  For the next few months, we are looking at “Downloads from Heaven”.  In these “downloads” we are contemplating what it would be like if we got a message from God (however you understand God).  We will be exploring messages from God about pain and suffering and healing and blessing and love and peace other topics too!  When you read these “downloads” you will notice that they are in quotes.  This is to help you think from your heart NOT your head.  Don’t get caught up in whether or not God, (however you understand God) actually said these things.  Just let them speak to your heart.  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.  Here is today’s download:

Healing for Self and Others

Healing Self and Others“Most of the work you are called to do has to do with healing.  Healing yourself and others.  This includes bringing peace and joy which comes from being your authentic self.  Healing, peace and joy come when all fear is removed so that you know and understand who you really are.  And who you really are has something to do with understanding yourself as filled with my divine and holy presence.  Because that is so, you have a variety of powers and gifts available to you as you seek to be who you are meant to be.  Use your brain but do not be surprised to find that what you are called to do doesn’t make logical sense.  In order to understand, you must accept the work of my presence in your life.  Also, trust that my Spirit can do things for you and with you.  You don’t have to do it all by yourself.  In fact, I want to help you.  I love you.”

We live in a world of logic and rationalization.  Nothing wrong with that but as we seek to be authentic, we may be challenged to do things that don’t makes sense.  This includes modifying long held beliefs that no longer serve us.  It may also include doing things that don’t make rational sense, stepping into the  unknown and listening to that still small voice that says try something new, the old isn’t working any more.  Our rational minds are often hard to over ride but to be our authentic self, the self that God (however you understand God) calls us to be, we have to keep our heart open and listen with our heart as well as our mind.  How do you keep your heart open in discerning next steps in your life?  Let me know in the comments below.
